It would appear his restoration plan has hit a snag. From the Denver Post….

The scandal-plagued former pastor of New
Life Church, Ted Haggard, was told by a team of ministers overseeing
his “restoration” that his plan to counsel at a Phoenix halfway house
was “unacceptable,” a group spokesman disclosed Wednesday.

The pastoral team also informed the 51-year-old Haggard
at their meeting Tuesday that his solicitation for money for his family
was “inappropriate,” according to a brief statement issued by team
member Mike Ware, pastor of the Victory Church in Westminster.

“He will not be doing any ministry,” Ware stated. “He will be seeking secular employment to support himself and his family.”

skipping down…

Disclosures this week that Haggard solicited donations to support himself and his wife, Gayle, as they work toward degrees at the University of Phoenix created new turmoil.

In an e-mail to KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs, Haggard asked supporters to send donations to his address, unless they needed a tax deduction, in which case they could write to “Families With a Mission.”

The organization is a Monument-based nonprofit run by Paul Gerard Huberty, a former Hawaii resident twice convicted of sex offenses.

Okay, I believe in restoration and second chances…but do you think you should align yourself with a convicted sex offender?
